Holiday Testing—also known as a continuity test—is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method used to detect discontinuities such as pinholes, voids, and thin spots in protective coatings applied to conductive substrates. This test ensures the integrity and effectiveness of coatings used for corrosion protection in pipelines, storage tanks, pressure vessels, and structural components.

Holiday testing works by applying a low-voltage or high-voltage current over the coated surface. If a flaw exists in the coating, the current completes the circuit and the tester signals a "holiday" (defect).
